When the world's against you; SMILE :)
Can I get back on track?

When things doesn't go your way; SMILE :)
I will find my way...

When you are about to give up; SMILE :)
It is within my grasp, just a little bit more...

SEGi University College

Benjamin Franklin once said, "The doors of wisdom are never shut". Really? Really... :)

One of the 'perks' of Darling's job is going around campus in Klang Valley. Well, it has never been a 'perk to him~lah', at least not until today, as Ethan and I tagged along (due to boredom at home).

Ethan enjoyed himself touring the campus. :)

All smiles as he is about to enter the premise.

This is how I knew what Benjamin Franklin once said~lah! :PThe trademark Clock Tower at the back. The swimming pool at the back can't be seen in this picture though. Bad photography.. hehe.. As I stood here at this very moment before I capture this photo, I suddenly felt a strong sense of missing something... Maybe being on a campus ground brings back fond memories. :)Gearing up for Christmas already...Here we enjoyed ourselves the most. The students' artwork being displayed at the main lobby. Ethan enjoys it as much as I do. Hmm... nice work. Really! It's a bird, it's a plane.. It's.. superman? It's just the extremely over-sized chandelier honey.. (sorry, forgot to photograph it) Ethan enjoying the beautiful landscape...

So what was the purpose of our visit today? What have we achieved from here? Well, I don't know. But it's nice to be touring around campus with Ethan. Letting him familiarise with the environment because soon I'll be an old lady and he'll leave for college! :D

The Apple Date

This woman always claimed that she is good in murdering recipes. Somehow, I found the outcome of her culinary work tempting except for the one 'maggot' incident {laughing silently here}. Her recent black sausage is a 'killer', putting all other black things in this world to shame. :P

This morning, as I was rummaging through my fridge, I saw several apples sitting there looking at me sadly. Immediately I thought of her recent apple tong sui. Before I started cooking lunch, I peeled and cut the apples into bite size pieces and washed the red dates. I dumped everything into the pot and let it boil. And then I think and think again if I had missed out on anything. As I was not online then, I could not refer to her post. The 'cheapskate' me then resorted to sms her to ask. In an instant she called me back. Claire, I'm so sorry. Next time I'll call you instead of sending you a text message! {Shy}

She told me to add some rock sugar. No problem...

Bringing it to boil..

The Elixir of Health..

Claire, he said "Best, Delicious"... so pass~lah! :D

Lunch date

Was crafting with Ethan when I received a call from Cynthia inviting me out for lunch. So nice! Something to take my mind off crafting for a little while. Been too engrossed with the demo preparation until turning into a zombie. A quick time out is highly appreciated. :)

So we went to the same place the last time we went out for lunch together, Shan Western Grill. Last time we forgot to take photos of the food. This time we did not forget.

Aww... somebody's not happy to share his precious Elmo

Haha.. she got it at last!
Our starter, garlic bread. -Complementary-
My hot MILO. -RM2.50- I like it being served this way...
My Grilled Mushroom Fish -RM11.50-
Cynthia's Seafood Spaghetti -RM11.90-
Brocolli seems to be the kids' favourite...
See? Even this cutie pie is enjoying everybit of it...
Ethan enjoying his corn :)

Thank you Cynthia for making me feel 'human' again. Any other mommy bloggers out there wanna date me out for lunch? :P

Asparagus bawang belacan

Reading suituapui's blog can be really fattening! lol. It is always lavished with good food and I bet he is really a good cook. If a picture speaks a thousand word, his food pictures are screaming telling us to eat them!

His one particular post reminds me of the good ol' days of how I used to have my greens before having Ethan. Cooking with Ethan in mind, I had to omit chilly from the menu. But darn.. I was drooling looking at his post.

When I was back in my parents' place last weekend, the first thing I did was to get my mom to prepare that classic vege dish. She used fresh prawns and the chosen green was asparagus. The outcome? Delicious! Just the way I like it... Sigh.. it's always good to be back home and being pampered by my mother. :)

Yummy asparagus

Gold coins, the better choice

I'm at my wits end. Everywhere I go people are talking about money making. These days we have no choice but to learn every trick in the trade to make the most of our money, otherwise we will have a hard time surviving this harsh economic uncertainties.

With the ever unstable fluctuating currency, it is wiser these days to invest in gold. If we look back during the past few decades, people (especially housewives) will invest whatever money they have in hand to purchase jewellery, especially those that are made of gold. The value of gold will most likely appreciate making it a solid investment choice.

Back to the present time, we no longer only purchase gold in the form of jewelery but the wiser ones will opt to buy gold coin instead. Be it your investment for your future old days or a gift to your child, when you choose to buy gold bullion you can never go wrong.

Just look at the ridiculously low interest rates offered by the banks these days in return for your cash in the form of fixed deposit or any other forms of savings, it is not quite worth it to be keeping your cash there for investment purposes anymore. Just take the safe and wiser way out, go buy bullion.

If you are keen to purchase gold bullion, just drop by this amazing site where you can learn more about gold trading. Click here for more details.

Finally, we met...

I was back in my parents place in Malacca over the weekend. Was suppose to meet up with Irene to get something from her but it poured like cats and dogs. Anyway, I don't really go out whenever I'm back in my hometown. I prefer to just relax at home and spend precious time with my parents and relatives. Irene, we'll paint the town red this weekend ok? I promise.. haha.

On Sunday, a dear friend and his wife visited me in my parents' place. Too bad Ethan was napping in the room with Darling when they came. They didn't manage to see Ethan at all.

He gave Ethan something though. Something that Ethan loves very much.

Ethan's very first Elmo.

See Ethan's just out of bed look. Aiyo, so not good-looking! :P
video

And here, a video of Ethan saying "Thank you" to Unc Kev.

Kev, thank you for dropping by to visit me. It was really nice to finally meet up with Mei and you. Thanks for the grapes and fudge too.

Next time, maybe Ethan will be awake to greet you. :)

Bear Hug

I must be one of the weirdest woman in the world. I don't fancy shopping. In our family, Darling does most of the shopping. To me even window shopping is a bore. I might as well declare that I am a bore. :P

These days, whenever we go shopping, I'll just go with the flow as in 'follow where Ethan goes'. That boy has his Daddy's genes. He loves shopping and can walk for hours looking at stuffs!

It's the end of the year again. It's time to renew our J Card. Renew now can get a bear. Since Ethan has been eyeing for this bear for so long, without hesitating I went to renew our card.

I found out about the free bear from this signage.

See how happy that boy after getting his bear. Refused to let me capture his face though. :P

video

Really refused to let me capture his face.. blek.. but he really loves this bear... :)

Getting ready

I browsed through The Star's newspaper today (11/11/2009). And came across the writeup on ParenThot's Family Day. Read closer and I saw this...
Ok. So my name's appeared in the newspaper today. Time for tension to kick in! Reality check. Have I done all that are needed to be done for this event? Let's see....
Ethan has been very cooperative. He gets up in the morning and the first thing he does is to reproduce most of his origami and art 'n' craft works to be displayed there on the event day.
My boy, the busy crafter.
My ladybug factory.

People say ladybug brings good luck. I'll be making hundreds of these (painstakingly handmade by me and me only :P) to be given away to visitors* to my booth (wish me luck!).

But that's where my 'work solo' strategy ends as I can't go through all these alone. The first thing I did when I received the invitation for the demo was to get help from this dude. Come to think of it, I did not give him a chance to say NO. Sorry Julie, can I 'borrow' him for a little while, please? Thank you so much Julie. You're the BEST!

Thank goodness for him, all my technical woes are solved. I don't think I KNOW I won't be able to make it without his help.

Christmas gifts ideas

Looking at how busy I am these days, in a blink of an eye it'll be Christmas already. It's always nice to look forward to Christmas. But if you are busy as a bee, it might turn out to be a hassle in some ways. Where do I steal some extra time shopping for gifts? That, I know will take days, weeks or worst case scenario.. months!

Was ranting about it to a friend the other day when she suggested I browse for gifts here. The first thing that caught my eyes when I started browsing was the Jellycat collection. You've just got to see it to understand what I meant.

Ethan browsing through the Jellycat Puddings, Stuffed Animals.

And this appeared to be his favourite... :)

At least I got the first part of my problems sorted out. Kiddies will get Jellycats. But what about those who are not really into stuffed animals? Fret not as Lou Lou's Corner caters for all. I found the barefoot dreams collections so lovable. Hard to resist. {Hint to all, I don't mind getting stuffs from there this coming Christmas! :P}

Heard of appaman? :) Then you'll be in for a good time. Browse through their collection and I'm sure at the end of the day, you'll log-out a happy surfer. I know I am and I'm sure Ethan enjoyed his first ever surfing experience too. :)

Here's to a Merry Christmas (though it is way too advance). But no Christmas is ever too advance when it comes from Merryn! :)

The way he drinks..

Remember I posted about Ethan dancing for my soup? He still loves soup very much {just like mommy}. He won't be patient enough to take sip by sip of it from the spoon though. When it comes to soup, this is how he likes to have it...

Lukewarm and from the straw!

These boots are made for washing...

Was doing a 'final' blogging the other day before leaving for my PIL's place {coz there I can't go online!} when Darling called out from the car porch. I was like, "What now?" as I knew Ethan was outside with him helping him to wash the car. In my heart, just leave me to blog in peace~lah! :P

But I finally dragged my feet to take a look at what's going on outside and I saw this...

My little rascal wearing MY boots while helping Daddy to wipe the car! @_@

My new baby

Last week started off a little bit shaky for me. Handphone being sent for repair {still in the ICU now} and the land line being interrupted for a day. But it gradually became better as Darling told me he got me a new PC. Yeay! With that new PC, I'll need a new workstation as the previous was like so ol' school.

The delivery guy assembling the workstation.

Ethan supervising their work. ^_^

Cleaning up is part and parcel of the job too. Not bad! :)

My old PC and table. {Running with an amazingly low memory of 256Mb ONLY}

My new PC and workstation. See the ol' baby on the left? That is now officially Darling's! Hehe..

With this new PC, blogging is such a breeze. I can now hop into virtually anyone's blog without a problem! I can leave comments in blogs such as Tekkaus, Ayie, Superman, Agnes, coffeesncookies and many more without a glitch! With the old desktop previously, I just can't do that. I don't know why.

Lazybum's meal

I always find men in the kitchen 'sexy'. But Darling doesn't cook. The only time he is in the kitchen is to peel fruits. :P He doesn't even cook his own instant noodles ok? Pampered to pieces this fella.

One day while I was shopping for groceries, I saw this.

Instant noodles for the extremely lazy bums! Don't even need to boil it, just add hot water! Come on.. how lazy can you be? I know of the type that comes in 'cup' and just add hot water. But this? Packet form and just add hot water? People are getting lazier each day!

There, you see. Darling's way of preparing his instant noodles on his own (when I'm too busy blogging..) So tak seksi! :P
The outcome - So dull! What's the point of having a wife if the hubs needs to eat that way rite? So I walked away from the PC for a little while and this is the way instant noodles looked like in the hands of a woman... ME! :)
Tah-dah! ^_^

Craft Demonstration - ParenThots Family Day

I have been invited by ParenThots (The Star's parenting website) to do a demo on my craft works. Finally people, you'll get to see me LIVE demonstrating my crafting skills :D (not too sure if Ethan will oblige to demo in public though).

Entrance is FREE. There'll be games and prizes too. Full details here. Mark your calendar and do drop by to say "HI" to me. :)

P/S: Bring your whole family there. It will be a blast! ^^
